Jayant Yadav is a talented Indian cricketer from Haryana, known for his skills as an offspinner and a handy lower-order batsman. He made his first-class debut in 2011 at the age of 21, immediately making an impact by picking up six wickets against Gujarat.
In the following seasons, Jayant showcased his batting prowess. In 2012, he scored a brilliant 211 against Karnataka, partnering with Amit Mishra to create a record-breaking 392-run stand for the eighth wicket. His all-round abilities caught attention when he dismissed Alastair Cook while playing for India A against a touring England XI.
First-Class Success and Rise to Prominence
Jayant’s most successful Ranji Trophy season came in 2014-15. He topped Haryana’s bowling charts with 33 wickets. His standout performances included a 13-wicket match haul against Saurashtra in Rajkot. Consistency earned him a call-up to the India A squad for series against South Africa A and Bangladesh A.
In the 2015-16 Ranji season, Jayant scored his second first-class century while batting at No. 4, sharing the crease with Virender Sehwag. He capped the season with eight wickets for Rest of India in the Irani Cup final against Mumbai and played a crucial role in a record 480-run chase.
Jayant Yadav’s IPL Journey

Later, Mumbai Indians (MI) acquired him, where his major highlight was the IPL 2020 final. He dismissed Shikhar Dhawan and bowled economically, conceding just 25 runs to help MI clinch the title.
In 2021, Jayant played five matches for MI. Though he was released ahead of the 2022 season, Gujarat Titans picked him up in 2024, reviving his IPL career.
