Akash Madhwal IPL factfile- Uttarakhand’s Akash Madhwal was a net bowler for Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the second leg of IPL 2021, but didn’t get to be a part of the main squad. He was then signed up by Mumbai Indians (MI) midway into IPL 2022 as a replacement for the injured Suryakumar Yadav.- Madhwal was made Uttarakhand’s captain for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy ahead of the 2022-23 domestic season. He got his chance in the IPL in 2023, when MI were missing the injured Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer.- Madhwal bagged 14 wickets in eight matches in IPL 2023. The highlight of that run was a match-winning, record haul of 5 for 5 in the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants.
